Samut Prakan, Thailand – Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) successfully hosted the 13th Huachiew Chalermprakiet University National and International Conference under the theme “Research to Serve Society,” bringing together researchers, academics, students, and professionals from Thailand and abroad for a two-day program that combined academic excellence with sustainability, innovation, and cultural exchange.

The conference reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing research that addresses real-world challenges and contributes to sustainable development. Organized as an international platform for research dissemination and interdisciplinary collaboration, the event promoted academic exchange while strengthening partnerships among higher education institutions and research organizations worldwide.

The first day, themed “SDG in Action,” focused on translating sustainability into practice through experiential learning activities. The program commenced with a tree-planting ceremony symbolizing environmental stewardship, followed by an international seminar on “Sustainability: Challenges, Trends, and Best Practices.” Distinguished experts shared insights into advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaborative initiatives.

In the afternoon, delegates participated in interactive workshops focusing on wellness and wellbeing, the Bio-Circular-Green Economy through waste-to-value innovations, and cultural sustainability through traditional Chinese tea-making and calligraphy. These activities illustrated the broad dimensions of sustainable development by integrating environmental conservation, community health, economic innovation, and cultural preservation. The day’s activities concluded with an International Welcome Dinner, providing participants with opportunities to strengthen academic networks and foster international friendship through cultural performances.

The second day was dedicated to scholarly presentations and academic discussions. A total of 139 research manuscripts were submitted and underwent a rigorous peer-review process, with 139 papers accepted for oral presentation and 14 papers presented in the poster session. Oral presentations were organized into 15 parallel sessions covering disciplines including Arts and Humanities, Business Administration and Economics, Health Sciences, Science and Technology, Chinese Studies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liberal Arts, and multidisciplinary research presented in English, Chinese, and Thai.

Participants also attended keynote speech and a special demonstration lecture highlighting the transformative role of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The keynote presentation, “From Academic Excellence to Health Equity: Translating AI Innovation into Real-World Impact,” demonstrated how AI-driven research can improve health outcomes, while the special demonstration lecture on “The Digital Transformation of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Advancing Diagnostic Precision through AI Technology” explored the integration of emerging technologies with traditional medical knowledge.

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony recognizing keynote speakers, co-host institutions, and partner organizations for their valuable contributions to the success of the event. More than an academic gathering, the conference reflected HCU’s vision of integrating research, sustainability, innovation, internationalization, and cultural understanding into a comprehensive learning experience.

By combining scholarly presentations with practical sustainability initiatives and cross-cultural engagement, the University reinforced its commitment to producing research that serves communities and contributes meaningfully to society.
