Deep inside the Sun’s core
Where it’s 15 million degrees Celsius
Uncountable hydrogen atoms smash together
And hyperactive gamma ray photons catapult out
Then zig zag drunkenly inside the star for tens of thousands of years
Losing energy to become light photons before they reach the Sun’s stormy surface
Unimaginable numbers of photons sprint at light speed through the vacuum of space
Taking only 8 minutes 20 seconds to cover 150 million kilometersand reach the Earth’s atmosphere
Then strike the silicon surface of a solar cell, thus creating an electric current
